Primary 7 Lead the Way in Protecting Our Planet! 🌍♻️

22nd May 2026
Our Primary 7 pupils have just completed an amazing, eye-opening workshops focused on sustainability, food waste, textiles and electronic waste (E-Waste). Throughout the sessions, the children explored the vital importance of our environment and discussed the shared responsibility we all have to care for the world we live in. They came away with fantastic, practical ideas on how small everyday changes can make a massive positive impact. A huge thank you to the brilliant team who made this learning so memorable:
  • Sue and Orlaith, who guided the pupils in creating wonderful, creative rosettes from repurposed textiles.
  • Peter and Orlaith, who helped us break down the complex issue of E-Waste and showed us simple improvements we can make to properly handle and reduce electronic waste.
  • Fiona, Katie and Orlaith, who led an insightful Food Waste workshop alongside FareShare, where the children had a fantastic time decorating and eating delicious pancakes while learning about food preservation.
A special mention goes to Orlaith, who was incredibly impressed with the amazing, innovative Eco projects our students created using entirely recycled materials for the Northern Ireland Reuse Network (NIRN) competition. Well done to all our P7s for showing such great maturity, curiosity and passion for building a cleaner, greener future! You are fantastic ambassadors for our school and the environment.
