P6&P7 Allstate Cybersafety Talk

A big thank you to Gareth from Allstate for visiting and talking to P6 and P7 classes today! 🌐✨  

Gareth delivered a fantastic session on online safety, teaching our pupils the importance of being mindful of their digital footprint. 
Gareth helped our pupils understand how to navigate the digital world responsibly, covering everything from "digital footprints" to the apps they use.

Key points included:

• Snapchat & Age Limits: A reminder that the minimum age for Snapchat is 13. Using apps below the age limit means children aren't protected by adult safety defaults.
• AI & Consent: We discussed how Artificial Intelligence can now be used to change or manipulate images. The children learned why they must never share or post a photo of someone else without their permission, as once a picture is online, you lose control of where it goes.
• Stop, Think, Tell: The importance of speaking to a trusted adult if anything online makes them feel uncomfortable.

It was an eye-opening session that has given our Primary 6 and Primary 7 the tools they need to navigate the digital world safely. Thanks again, Gareth! 🙌
