FRIDAY UPDATE 5TH FEB 2021

5th Feb 2021

A very Happy Friday to everyone,

We have reached the end of another busy week. Congratulations to all the boys and girls for doing their best and to the adults at home who are helping with the learning. The engagement in the work is a credit to you all and so encouraging to see. Thank you for your kind messages and best wishes, we really do appreciate each and every one of them. We understand the pressures of family life and the challenges remote learning can present. As we always say, do what you can and be proud of your efforts. Remember education is a marathon and not a sprint. Thanks to our wonderful staff who are working long hours to plan and prepare the weekly and daily timetable and tasks . We are looking forward to a rest over the weekend and hope you will enjoy some down time too.

I also wanted to share the following news.

FREE WEBINARS TO SUPPORT PARENTS AND FAMILIES

The Derry-Londonderry Primary School Principals collectively recognise the pressure that families are facing throughout this pandemic, lockdown, periods of isolation and remote learning. We have collaborated with Children and Young People’s Strategic Partnership (CYPSP) to offer all primary school parents the opportunity to take part in a series of Parenting Support Webinars, specifically designed for you. The webinars will take place in February and March covering important areas such as:

  • Homeschooling
  • Parenting in Lockdown
  • Parent Wellbeing
  • Digital Online Safety
  • Reducing Conflict
  • Managing Change

All of the webinars are FREE of charge, fully funded by CYPSP.

We encourage parents to join via the webinar link (on poster attached) or online registration, then make a cup of tea, sit back and make the most of the opportunity to put yourself first for a change while the experts guide you through with support strategies, advice and practical help for lockdown.

I have attached the first webinar details for you-Bronagh Starrs on Thursday 11th February. I hope you will join and also find it useful. More details will follow in relation to the other webinars as they arise.

Have a lovely weekend

Take care

Mrs Bacheta
