Catholic Schools Week 2026 -Theme 'Ordinary lives, Called to Holiness'

On Thursday, Mrs McCallion and four of our wonderful pupils joined schools from across the Derry Diocese to make the beginning of Catholic Schools Week 2026 at a special mass in St. Eugene's Cathedral. The Theme is 'Ordinary Lives, Called to Holiness' which Bishop Donal McKeown spoke about during the mass. Bishop McKeown spoke about Saint Carlo Acutis, his reach as a modern day Saint through his interests and how his love for Jesus made a difference to the lives of others. 

Many thanks to Therese Ferry (Diocesan Advisor for Primary Schools) and the Derry Catechetical Centre for a wonderful morning and for the presentation of 'Our Lady of Silence' plaque for our school. 

Special thank you to our pupils from Primary 4, Anna and Lochlann, as well as our Primary 7, Ruby and Keighan, for their excellent manners and behaviour!
