BOOK WEEK 2022

13th Oct 2022

Book Week NI is a joint initiative celebrating the pleasures and benefits of reading, arising from the partnership between BBC Northern Ireland and Libraries NI.

Now in its seventh year, Book Week NI encourages everyone to visit their local library to read.

Book Week will take place from 17th -23th October and will include activities and events across the library network, including Love Your Library Day on 19 October, when everyone is being encouraged to make a visit to their local library to see what's happening – and maybe borrow some books!

Reading for pleasure has many great benefits for mental health and wellbeing, and even taking a few minutes to read each day can provide much needed escapism and relaxation from busy, daily lives.

This year there will be a focus on a different genre of book for each day of the week.

Branches will be busy hosting events and activities for adults and children of all ages so it is the perfect time to reconnect with your local library. Simply call in to say hello and tell them why you love your local library, borrow or return books or get the whole family to join in whatever activity is taking place!
