Dear parents/guardians, 

I hope you have enjoyed the summer holidays and found some time to put your feet up. A new school year is fast approaching and the countdown has begun. We are looking forward to seeing the boys and girls and hearing all their summer news.

I would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone returning and a first time welcome to our Primary 1 children and the new families joining us this year. I hope you will be very happy at Chapel Road and enjoy becoming part of our thriving school community. 

Good luck to our P7 leavers as they begin a new chapter in their school journey. We will be thinking about you.

Please see below information in relation to our return to school. Make a note of times and dates relevant to your child/children.

All children return to school on Thursday 1st September 2002. Children can be dropped off from 8.30am for morning supervision. Teaching begins at 9.00am.

Breakfast Club will begin on Monday 5th September 2022. It will run from 8.15am until 8.45am. The cost is 50p daily.

Primary 1

The information needed for P1 has already been provided in the Induction Parent Handbook and folder. Please refer to this information for items not summarised below.  

Primary 1 will attend on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd September from 9.00am until 12.30pm.

The children will have lunch/dinner before they go home. If your child is taking lunch, please send a packed lunch and drink. Dinner costs £2.60 daily if your child is not in receipt of Free School Meals.

Snack is provided daily, this costs £2.00 weekly, payable in a sealed and labelled envelope to the teacher on a Monday morning. This will begin on Monday 5th September 2022. Snack will be provided by the school on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd September.

Week 2 for P1-Monday 5th to Friday 9th September is 9.00am until 2.00pm.

Week 3 for P1-Monday 12th onwards is 9.00am until 2.00pm with the option of attending the Butterflies Club from 2.00pm until 3.00pm. This club is free to attend.

Please note-P1 children can attend from 8.30am for supervision from the 1st September or 8.15am for Breakfast Club from Monday 5th September. Breakfast Club costs 50p daily.

Primary 2

Primary 2 will attend school from 9.00am until 2.00pm on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd September. The children can stay from 2.00pm until 3.00pm for the Butterflies Club from Monday 5th September. This club is free to attend.

Please note-P2 children can attend from 8.30am for supervision from the 1st September or 8.15am for Breakfast Club from Monday 5th September. Breakfast Club costs 50p daily.

If your child is lunch, please send a packed lunch and a drink.

Dinner costs £2.60 daily if your child is not in receipt of Free School Meals.

Snack is provided daily, this costs £2.00 weekly, payable in a sealed and labelled envelope to the teacher on a Monday morning. This will begin on Monday 5th September 2022. Snack will be provided by the school on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd September.

 

Primary 3

This year your child will move over to the main school building. Please do not worry about this change as we will help the children to find their way and settle into this new routine.

Primary 3 will attend school from 9.00am until 3.00pm from Thursday 1st September.

The children can also arrive at 8.30am for morning supervision in their classroom or attend Breakfast Club at 8.15am from Monday 5th September.  Breakfast Club costs 50p daily.

In P3 the children will need to bring a healthy snack for morning break and either a packed lunch (with a drink) or have dinner in the canteen. If not in receipt of Free School Meals, the cost of a school meal is £2.60 daily.

Primary 4-Primary 7

All P4-P7 children will return to school on Thursday 1st September 2022 from 9.00am until 3.00pm.

The children can also arrive at 8.30am for morning supervision in the assembly hall or attend Breakfast Club at 8.15am from Monday 5th September. Breakfast Club costs 50p daily.

The children will need to bring a healthy snack for morning break and either a packed lunch (with a drink) or have dinner in the canteen. If not in receipt of Free School Meals, the cost of a school meal is £2.60 daily.

325 Club

This club will resume on Monday 12th September 2022. It will run for all year groups as follows:

Monday to Thursday- 3.00pm-5.00pm

Friday-3.00pm-4.00pm

The cost is £1.00 per hour.

I hope the above information will help you to prepare for your child’s return to school. Other information such as PE days and homework will be provided by the class teacher when timetables are secured.
